Another busy week for the third grade. In reading and writing, we continued our study of Chris Van Allsburg. Specifically, students chose an illustration from The Mysteries of Harris Burdick to craft into a story. To help create deeper stories, they are developing a character that relates to the page they chose. Can't wait to see the final product.
The Wisconsin Fast Plants continue to provide moments of awe and wonder. Our plants now have flowers, which provided important opportunities to discuss the relationship of pollen and bees. Check out students diagraming their plants below.
Fun times with technology and Mr. Jeffery! Third grade learned how to use the scanner and save their files on the Queen Anne server. More importantly, students saw how they can take their personal narratives and post them onto their websites. Can't wait till that's all up and running.
Finally, students ended the week by reflecting on what they did at school. For our "Week in Review", every student wrote what they thought was the most important idea, activity and experience. Each table group shared their work and nominated an idea, activity or experience. As a class we voted and came up with what we thought was the most important. Here is our first week in review.
Most important idea:
- Learning how to scan our work.
