This was a very interactive and busy week. We finished the SBAC but had plenty of other events to keep us occupied. We wrapped up our projects this week. Every group presented their designs and demonstrated how their creation works. This will provide important preparation for our PBL showcase June 4th.
The entire third grade traveled to Benaroya Hall for Link Up: The Orchestra Rocks. It definitely rocked. Students were equally excited and amazed at what they heard from the Seattle Symphony. Even more important is the fact they were able to play along with their recorders. Check our view from front row. Thanks to all the parents who volunteered.
On the topic of parents, students were finally able to share their information articles during our Writers Celebration. It was awesome to have everyone read and share his or her writing. Thanks to all the parents who made it out.
I was very excited to start our new science unit on sound. We kicked things off by sharing questions we had about sound. Then we explored the world of vibration through the use of tuning forks. Students were completely immersed with what the tuning fork could do. Check out the video.
There will be no school Tuesday May 19 on account of the strike.
