SBAC testing took over the classroom this week. This session’s focus was on reading and writing. Students were both nervous and excited to start the test. In the end everything ran smoothly. I didn’t take any pictures of the test for several reasons. However, here are some shots of students enjoying their morning breakfast. Thank you to all the parents who helped organize and provide everyone with a hearty meal before the test.
While students were finishing their test, we had ample time to publishing our information writing. Everyone has gone through and corrected their work as well as shared it with a peer. Now its time to type and finalize our article spread. I can’t wait to see what their final products will look like. Check out the pictures below of our expert writers.
The SBAC did not prevent us from forging on with the D.A.M. Project. This week was dedicated towards construction. Every group went through their materials and began to build models based on their designs. This has been an exciting moment. Groups are now seeing their work materialize into a functioning model. Likewise, it has been a great way to practice our skills of communication and cooperation.
In Math we started a new unit on time. We kicked things off by timing ourselves doing different challenges. In doing so, students had the opportunity to experience different units of time as well as see how time is continuous. I’ve covered the digital clock in our room.
Our next round of testing will begin May 17th. Thanks again to all the parents who helped out this week. No Week In Review this time around.
