This was a short week, so we have a shorter blog post. Nevertheless, what we accomplished was a lot of fun. As mentioned in last weeks post, our experience playing the rock cycle game is helping us compose our own rock comics. We discussed how to plan our frames and the importance of dialogue alongside illustration. Thus, students have been working hard to find the balance between words and illustration as well as how to best convey their meaning. This has definitely been a fascinating project for everyone.
On the topic of projects, we have been gathering our best poems and compiling them into a book. Everyone has been excited about becoming published poets and authors. The book covers look great and the poetry inside will be something worth sharing. That being said, our Poetry Slam will be Thursday February 26 @ 3:00. Feel free to stop by and experience the different compositions. Check out our publishers and their book covers below.
We were not able to get Week in Review done last week on account of the Valentines Party. So this week is a Mega-Week in Review, as voted by the students.
Week in Review
Most Important Idea
-Rock comics because we get to create our own characters and story while learning about the rock cycle.
Most Important Activity
-Typing Agent because we can learn how to type without looking at the keyboard.
Most Important Experience
-PE because M., L. and O. proved that girls can do anything boys can do by playing football.
Quick note. We are running low on pencils and erasers. If anyone has any yellow Ticonderoga’s or pink erasers they need to get rid of, we will gladly take them off your hands ; )
-Mr. Bing
Three Questions
1. What whole number is equivalent to 4/4? 8/4?
2. What did Martin Luther King mean when he said "love your enemy"?
3. What is your favorite poem you wrote?
